Why Uruguay? Living a self sufficient lifestyle in Uruguay has many benefits. The 3 main being good climate, fertile soil and cheap land. The climate allows for an ample growing season. Rarely over 35° in peak summer and maybe a day of two of frost on a rare occasion in winter. The soil in the interior of the country is very fertile. Uruguays like to say "throw seeds, and they grow". Land prices are cheap as I outlined in another post. These are the main reasons why an EcoVillage has its advantages here.
